Trompe-l’œil

This installation creates the illusion of showing sections of the city panorama in each cardinal direction by means of four pictures corresponding to the existing window. Railway tracks and Reichstag are seen on one side, with roof landscapes and idyllic detailed facades of old buildings on the other.

The effects of trompe-l’oeil are used here in a painterly manner (spatial depth and distance, deep gullies and nested construction) and offer the guest an interesting artistic perspective above the city rooftops.
